Auditions
Audition Requirements for 2024-2025
Auditions will be held in the afternoon of August 25 at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 1005 N. 21st Street, Lafayette, IN 47904.
Please complete the registration information on this website and read all the requirements carefully. We try to schedule like instruments together, but if you know of a conflict that cannot be resolved on August 25 between 2 and 6, please let Mrs. Letcher know by email.
Times will not be assigned until August 19, please complete your registration prior to August 15.
Please encourage your fellow musicians at school to audition to play with us! We had many players graduate and have many openings! We have financial aid money to give away, so please let them know! No one is turned away because of an inability to pay!
Scales, solo excerpt, and music excerpts will all be heard. String players who are interested in being considered for a leadership position (principal/concertmaster) will be asked to sightread.
Please make sure you have listened to excerpts on YouTube or somewhere else to be familiar with the pieces. Some judges comment in past years were that it was obvious some people had not bothered to listen to the piece, and it made a huge difference in their audition!.
Please contact Carol Letcher, 765-490-3464 (text first) or CDLetcher@comcast.net for questions.
Also, if you plan to audition, please click the button below to fill out the form to provide personal and contact information. For any question regarding the registration form, please email or call.
